Cheryl  E. Fluttrow

OAKWOOD – Cheryl E. Fluttrow, 75, of Oakwood, peacefully passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at The Laurels of Defiance from complications with diabetes. She was born March 14, 1949, in Defiance to the late Richard E. and Patricia A. (Klinger) Ball.

Cheryl graduated from Auglaize Brown High School in 1967 and Elkhart Institute, a Business College, in 1969. On September 19, 1970, she married Charles L. Fluttrow, who passed away in October of 1996. Cheryl and Charles had one son, Gregory C. Fluttrow, who lives at the homestead that has been in the family for over 100 years. She proudly worked in retail her entire life, starting at Murphy's, Hills, and ending her business career as a supervisor at K-Mart. Cheryl was a dedicated Christian and devoted her life to many years of service to the Oakwood Community Church as church pianist and treasurer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Ball.

Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Oakwood Community Church, 201 East Harmon St., Oakwood with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, alongside her husband. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oakwood Community Church, The Diabetes Society (www.diabetes.org), or a charity of the donor's choice.
