Clara M. Settlemire

OTTAWA – Clara M. Settlemire, 88, of Ottawa, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Birchaven Village, Findlay. She was born October 24, 1937, in Ottawa to the late Ralph D. and Chloe M. (Fairchild) Schreiber.

She is survived by 7 children: Delbert Settlemire, Jr. of Benton Ridge, Connie (Randy) Dorman of Pandora, Debra (Corie) Smith of Rawson, Craig (Leaette) Settlemire of Hoytville, David (Scott Barnes) Settlemire of Uxbridge, MA, Cathlene “Cathy” Bugner of Rawson, and Kevin Settlemire of Leipsic; 23 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother, George W. Schreiber; daughter-in-law, Barb Settlemire; son-in-law, Jeff Bugner; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Clara retired from Philips, Ottawa. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army WAC and life member of the Leipsic AMVETS and Ottawa VFW Auxiliary 9142. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2026, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Ronald Dorman officiating and military rites by the Ottawa VFW. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
