Clarence A. Frey
Leipsic – Clarence A. Frey, 99, of Leipsic, died at 4:15 p.m., May 23, 2012 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born January 5, 1913 in Ottawa to the late John W. and Altha (Neubert) Frey. On August 21, 1937, he married Geneva Amstutz. She died December 15, 2003.
Clarence is survived by 4 sons: J William (Nancy Jane) Frey of Bowling Green, Robert D. (Jacquelyn M.) Frey of Bluffton, Gary A. (Catherine M.) Frey of Pinconning, MI, and Greg. S. (Cheryl M.) Frey of Pandora; 3 daughters: Julie A. (George) Powell of Sun City West, AZ, Jenny L. (John W.) McDaniel of Ottawa, and Kathy L. (Andy R.) Cervantes of Waxahachie, TX; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by 2 sons: Ronald E. Frey and James L. Frey; 3 brothers: Carl, Charles, and James Frey; and 3 sisters: Dorothy Dauer, Elizabeth Otto, and Evelyn Ball.
Clarence was a retired brick mason and had been a member of the Brick Layers Union. He was a member of the National Guard, life member of the VFW, and member of the Van Wert Moose Lodge.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. Amy Haines officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Saturday, May 26, 2012 and again for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
