Clark E. "Bud" Wells
OTTAWA - Clark E. "Bud" Wells, 91, of Ottawa, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at The Meadows at Putnam Acres. He was born July 14, 1923 in Ottawa to the late Clark and Susie (Butcher) Wells. On March 5, 1946 he married Rita R. Ellerbrock who died September 4, 1954. On June 16, 1956 he married Mae McGue who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 3 children: Dennis (Nancy) Wells of Franklin, TN., John (Rindy) Wells of Findlay, and Rebecca (Kelly) Strate of McComb; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son: Thomas Wells; a brother: Charles Wells; and 2 sisters: Louise Schumaker and Bernice Schroeder.
Bud retired from Sylvania formerly of Ottawa after 33 years. He was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a member of Ottawa VFW. Bud loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was of the Protestant faith. II Timothy, 4: 7-8.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa with military rites by Ottawa VFW, American Legion and AMVETS. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
