Cleo Catherine Geren

CONTINENTAL -- Cleo Catherine Geren, 94, of Continental died 12:50 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.  She was born October 11, 1921, in Defiance to the late Louis and Orpha (Wheeler) Coble.  On August 16, 1941 she married Fremont Geren, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1996.

Cleo is survived by her children:  Ronald (Karen) Geren, Janet Dales, and Joyce (Richard) Stark, all of Defiance.  5 grandchildren:  Scott (Holly) Dangler, Chandra (Terry) Nuveman, Meggan (Ben) Gerding, Lori (Jim) Tyler; and Casey (Jessica) Geren; a grandson-in-law:  James Alvarado; 14 great-grandchildren:  Brittany (Scott) Powers, Leigh Alvarado, Preston Alvarado, Deanna Alvarado, Taylor McMichaels, Kelsey Rau, Karley Rau, Lily Nuveman, Bailey Dangler, Carter Moore, Tayvin Tyler, Ella Geren, Addie Geren and Parker Geren; a sister:  Florence Kline of Florida and a brother:  Nelson Mull of Deshler.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter:  Danette Alvarado; and 8 siblings:  Homer Brooks, John Mull, Bill Mull, Calvin Mull, Jack Coble, Alice Digby, Fay Stoker and Mable Williams.

Cleo was a homemaker and resided in the same home in Continental for 75 years.  She also attended Christ Lutheran Church, Continental.

The funeral service for Cleo will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.  Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service.
