Cletus Francis Morman OTTAWA - Cletus Francis Morman, 93, of Ottawa, passed away at 3:41 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb 25, 2025, with his son Dean by his side.  Cletus was born October 04, 1931 in Miller City, Ohio, to the late Louis and Veronica (Lammers) Morman. On July 11, 1959, Cletus married Rose Ann Weis of Leipsic, Ohio.  Cletus and Rose Ann were married for nearly 65 years, upon her passing on Feb 15, 2024.  They had two sons … Curt Francis Morman and Dean Joseph Morman.  Curt passed away on Dec 09, 2021, and Dean survives.  Cletus and Rose Ann had two granddaughters, Rachel and Brooke, who both survive. His brothers Lee (Kathy), Roy (Rita), and Ott (Carol), and his sister, Edna (Ralph Inkrott) survive.  Other family members who preceded Cletus in death include by his brother Karl, brothers-in-law Dennis Weis and Dennis Halker, and sisters-in-law Ursula Weis, Janelda (Weis) Halker, and Margaret (Weis) Schroeder. Cletus attended the Pontifical High School and graduated from Miller City High School.  Cletus served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict 1952-1956.  He was on the crew of the USS Titania Aka 13 Arcturus-class attack cargo ship.  Thereafter, Cletus was a crew member on the USS Consolation AH15, a highly-regarded Haven-class hospital ship which was originally in service with the United States Navy from 1945 to 1955. In 1960 the ship was chartered to the People to People Health Foundation and renamed SS Hope and served for another 14 years until being scrapped in 1975. Cletus worked at Campbell Soup and Libby's during high school, and later worked with Pete Ward Construction.  He was with Ford Motor Company Lima Plant for 31 years, in a variety of positions. Later, Cletus worked with Meals on Wheels, where he delivered a good meal, a smile, and enjoyable conversation to those in need.  He also worked at the Cranberry Creek Nursery. Cletus was the oldest child in his family, and he set a wonderful example for his 4 brothers and 1 sister.  He was a good son to his parents.  Cletus was a devoted husband, and was a dedicated father who was very present in the lives of his children.  He provided a wonderful example of an honest, hard-working, and reliable man for his two sons to emulate.  Whether it was watching his oldest son in the OG Band, or watching his youngest son run in track meets, Clete made it a priority to be there for his children. Cletus enjoyed photography, bowling, and fishing with his son and grandchildren. He was skilled at wood carving, and had a high mechanical aptitude.  Cletus made it a priority to take his family on an annual summer vacation, and great memories were made on these trips. Cletus was a very good man.  He was friendly, ethical, and always ready to help where he could.  Cletus was a Christian, and he was grateful for the blessings GOD had given him.  Through the difficult times of life, Cletus rarely complained. He will be missed by many.  Much appreciation to the caring staff of The Meadows of Ottawa and a special thanks to Putnam County Hospice.
