Constance Sue (Loman) Ruhe, 54, of Ottawa, died at 6:47p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Connie was born October 21, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana to James and Barbara Loman (both deceased). Connie was raised in Ottawa, OH where she lived with her husband of 35 years, Dale "Skip" Ruhe.
Connie worked many years in the newspaper industry, first at The Putnam County Sentinel and most recently as a page designer for The Lima News, where she combined her creative talents as a photographer and writer with her enthusiasm for technology.
As an avid lover of the arts, Connie was one of the earliest members of the Blanchard River Art Guild where her enthusiasm supported and inspired others. Connie enjoyed time with family and friends who shared her interests in photography, wine-making, gardening, computers, cooking, genealogy, and nature. Her warm smile and giving spirit will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Connie is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Rob) Hemrick and three grandchildren, Audrey, Reid and Layne Hemrick of Lewis Center, OH; a son, Schuyler Ruhe, of Dayton, OH; sisters Kathy (Pete) Sawicki of Orono, MN, Kris (Dan Buckland) Loman of Cross Plains, WI, and Jacque (Mark) Ward of Bay Village, OH; and brothers Bob Loman of Ottawa, OH and Jon (Anita) Loman of Ottawa, OH.
Connie was preceded in death by a brother, William Loman.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa with Rev. Lynda Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to service Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Blanchard River Art Guild.
