Craig C. Combs
KIEFERVILLE -- Craig C. Combs, 73 died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at his residence as a result of battling cancer for over three years. He was born January 2, 1942, in Miller City to the late Everett and Sarah (Welch) Combs. On June 1, 1968 he married Ila L. Elkins who survives in Kieferville.
Also surviving are 3 children: Cynthia Siefker (Robert "Huck") Brown of Cotninental, Carson (Dawn) Combs of Marysville, and Corwin Combs of Chicago, IL; 6 grandchildren: Kayla Siefker, Ross Siefker, Hailey Brown, Hanna Brown, Aidan Combs and Jacy Ann Combs. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister- in-law: Norval (Arline) Combs.
Craig was a member of North Creek United Methodist Church and a former member of the Kieferville United Methodist Chruch. He retired from commercial banking after 32 years working at the Continental Bank and Oakwood Deposit Bank. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1967 as an analyst in Germany for the U.S. Army Security Agency. He was a member of the Continental American Legion Post 541 , Voiture 141 of Lucas County 40 & 8, and a charter and life member of North American Fisherman. Craig was a graduate of Continental High School and formerly active in various local and county organizations.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Reverend Rich Noggle officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental with military rites by Continental American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to North Creek U.M. Church or Putnam County Hospice.
