Craig A. Peterson

LEIPSIC – Craig A. Peterson, 70 of Leipsic, died 9:32 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2026 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born January 6, 1956. On September 18, 2008, he married Sharon Maag Basinger and she survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include two children: Joseph Peterson of Toledo and Jennifer (David) Pope of Nashville, GA; step children: Mollie (Aaron) Frankart, Scott (Andrea) Basinger, Kelly (Rob) Fitzgerald, Michelle Basinger, Anna Ulinski, Cheri Basinger and Christopher (Alexia) Basinger; one granddaughter, Matilda Pope; twelve step-grandchildren: Shana Frankart, Brenna Frankart, Seth Frankart, Aven Fitzgerald, Elliotte Fitzgerald, Isla Fitzgerald, Ezra Fitzgerald, Nora Basinger, Piper Ulinski, Leslie Basinger, Peyton Basinger and Bryce Basinger; and a brother, David Peterson.

He was also preceded in death by several siblings and a son-in-law, Jared Ulinski.

Craig was a lifelong mechanic. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic. Craig enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars in his garage.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center, Leipsic.

Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
