Obituary

Cynthia Suzanne Cardwell

OTTOVILLE - Cynthia “Cindy” Suzanne Cardwell, 72, of Ottoville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2026. She was born May 21, 1953, in Indianapolis, IN to the late George and Lillian (Wissel) Sparks.

She is survived by five children: Audra (Lane) Guy of Fort Wayne, IN, Amanda (Darren) Leis of Ottoville, Allison (Toby) Looser of Perrysburg, Abigail Nartker of Kalida and Andrew (Brittany) Cardwell of Findlay; 12 grandchildren: Jacob Guy, Ian Guy, Keagen (Kayla) Leis, Alayna (Jeffrey) Firestone, Grant Leis, Reese Looser, Cambell Looser, Austin (Autumn) Nartker, Claire Nartker, Grayson Cardwell, Lucas Cardwell and Micah Cardwell; a brother-in-law, Bart Daly of IL; and nieces and nephews: Megan (Mark) Greenwald, Gwen (Jarrett) Bialek, Bart (BJ) Daly and Patrick Daly; and friends that became family, Joe and Jeri Guy and their daughter Ericka.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob; and her sister, Carol Daly.

Cindy retired from Paulding County Hospital in 2019 from her career as a medical lab technician.

To know Cindy was to love Cindy. She has had dear friends at every stage of her life, from her “Lukettes” to her “Morning Glories”. She was a member of Lima First Church and loved to serve others and those in need with great passion. She enjoyed volunteering at Our Daily Bread in Lima and was a blessing to many. Her laugh was contagious as well as her beautiful smile. Her smile was the brightest when she spent time with any of her children and grandchildren, of whom she was so very proud of. She was the rock of our family and instilled into all of her children that Jesus Christ is our foundation. (Ephesians 2:20)

Cindy was known for her bubbly personality, eye for fashion, love of Diet Pepsi and most importantly her Love for Jesus! Since her retirement she lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed trips to her favorite place on the beach in Florida , catching a grandchild’s sporting event or musical. She spent a lot of time with her “Morning Glories” a group of beautiful women who supported and encouraged each other and were so very dear to our mother. You ladies were more than friends, you are her sisters and we are forever grateful for you all.

A celebration of life will begin at 4 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2026, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Pastor Daniel Messner officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Our Daily Bread and or LFC Horizon Project .
