Daniel J. Basinger
Kalida - Daniel J. Basinger, 62, of Kalida died 7:05 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born July 30, 1955 in Lima to George G. and Nora L. (Wurth) Basinger. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Kalida.
Daniel is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Virginia (Brad) Leis of Ottawa, Julia Basinger, John (Brenda) Basinger, Peg Basinger and Ken (Jackie) Basinger all of Kalida and Chris (Julia) Basinger of Ottawa and his constant companion, his dog Macy. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Henry.
Daniel was a machine operator at Remlinger Manufacturing in Kalida. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kalida and its Holy Name Society, also a member of Kalida Fish and Game Club. He was an avid fan of the Kalida Wildcats. Daniel was a much loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp., where there will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the charity of donors choice.
