Daniel J. Schimmoeller
Fort Jennings – Daniel J. Schimmoeller, 65, of Fort Jennings died 9:45 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.  He was born December 20, 1948 in Lima to Donald and Coletta (Schnipke) Schimmoeller.  His father is deceased and his mother survives in Fort Jennings.  On October 11, 1975 he married Jane Martin, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Also surviving are his daughters:  Karen (Ryan) Horstman of Cloverdale, Kate (Bryan) Blue of Cloverdale, and Kim (Adam) Siefker of Columbus Grove; 9 grandchildren:  Haley, Karlee, Courtney and Abby Horstman, Bryant and Kaden Blue, and Grant, Garrett and Lillian Siefker; 3 sisters:  Carol (Dale) Youngpeter of Orion, MI, Susan (Tim) Calvelage of Kalida, and Jean (Daniel) Saum of Fort Jennings; a brother:  William (Madelyn) Schimmoeller of Delphos; mother-in-law:  Rita Martin of Fort Jennings; and a brother-in-law:  Gerald (Evelyn) Martin of Fort Jennings.
He is preceded in death by his father: Donald Schimmoeller and his father-in-law:  Norman Martin.
Daniel retired from GM Powertrain, Defiance and had been a life long farmer.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.  He was a veteran of the National Guard 113 Engineer Group, Lima.  He had been a member of the Fort Jennings American Legion, the Delphos Eagles and the UAW Local 211, Defiance.  Daniel enjoyed spending his time farming and especially loved to give the grandkids tractor and combine rides.  He also enjoyed reading and traveling and vacationing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.  Father Charles Obinwa will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, where a scripture service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:45p.m.
