GLANDORF – Daniel "Mose" Stechschulte, 68, of Glandorf died at 6:59 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1943 in Ottawa to the late Leonard and Jeanett (Wolke) Stechschulte. On October 23, 1965 he married Vera "Jeanie" Unverferth who survives in Glandorf.
Also surviving are four sons: Tracy (Chris) Stechschulte and Ryan "Doc" (Sharon) Stechschulte both of Ottawa, Tony (Anita) Stechschulte of Miller City, and Matt (Anissa) Stechschulte of Ottawa; 13 grandchildren; Keri, Mike, Holly, Derrick, Ashley, Abby, Allysa, Jordan, Kelvin, Stevan, Troy and Kelly Stechschulte and Ashley Weaver; a brother: Marvin (Ann) Stechschulte of Findlay; and three sisters: Joyce (Bill) Goecke and Janice (Leon) Utrup both of Glandorf and Marlene (Dave) Beckett of Ottawa.
Mose was retired from the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture and had also worked 18 years for Shawnee Distributors. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf; Ottawa Eagles; Glandorf Rod and Gun; and a social member of Ottawa VFW. He was serving his 4th term on Glandorf Village Council, currently serving as president, and served on the Glandorf Park Board for 3 years. He was an active member of the Glandorf Volunteer Fire Department for 47 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with graveside services by the Putnam County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service Thursday at 5:45 p.m. and a Glandorf Firemen service at 7 p.m. on Friday. Memorials may be made to Putnam County ALS Association or to Putnam County Hospice.
