Daniel Joseph "Twelve Pack" Miehls
KALIDA – Daniel Joseph "Twelve Pack" Miehls, 58, of Kalida died Thursday afternoon, February 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1954 in Lima to the late Earl and Rita (Pohlman) Miehls, Sr. On December 3, 1982 he married Dorothy Petersik and they are divorced.
He is survived by three children: Richard (Amy) Glasgow of Oklahoma, Michael (Natasha Korte) Miehls of Ft. Jennings, and Christopher Miehls of Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Payton, Logan and Raegan Glasgow and Elizabeth Miehls; a brother: Ronald Joseph Miehls of Ottawa; three sisters: Judy (Ralph) Averesch of Ottoville, Becky (Patrick) Kelly of Ft. Jennings, and Kathy (Adrian) Weyrauch of Ft. Jennings; and two sisters-in-law: Marcia Miehls of Delphos and Ruth Miehls of Ft. Jennings. He was also preceded in death by a son: Matthew Ryan Miehls and two brothers: Kenneth Miehls and Earl Miehls, Jr.
Dan was a welder and machinist for Verhoff Machine in Continental. He enjoyed Karaoke at the American Legion in Delphos and was a former member of the Delphos Eagles. He loved poker runs, Johnny Cash and Jack Daniels. Dan bought his first Harley in 1979 and has enjoyed Harley's ever since.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Fr. Mel Verhoff officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Ft. Jennings. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
