Darce Howard
CELINA-  Darce Howard, 76, of Celina, formerly of Continental died at 11:37 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1938 in Paintsville, KY to the late Ben and Jessie (Collins) Howard. On December 12, 2008 he married Versa G. Sargent,  who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are 2 daughters: Laura Howard of Greenville and Teresa (Gary) Condon of Versailles; a stepson: Larry (Melissa) McGlothin of Wabash, IN.; a stepdaughter: Heather (Todd) Gates of Kokomo, IN.; 5 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jerry (Darlene) Howard of Oakwood and Charlie (Jessie) Howard of Continental; and 5 sisters: Goldie Goble of Kentucky, Geneva Dennison of Gallatin, TN., Donna (Joe) DeSota of Rice, Lola Hacker of Continental, and Kay Johnson of Melrose. He was also preceded in death by a stepson: Shaun McGlothin; 6 brothers: Doug Collins, Offut, Truman, Jewel, Albert, and Edward Howard; and 2 sisters: Linda Worline and Darlene Booth.
Darce retired from General Motors in Defiance. He loved classic cars and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and banjo, riding bikes, traveling and helping others.
A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Jim States officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the State of the Heart Hospice in Coldwater, OH.
