Darel C. Parker
LEIPSIC – Darel C. Parker, 91, of Leipsic died 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at The Meadows of Leipsic.  He was born January 3, 1921 in Belmore to the late Henry and Fern (Wineland) Parker.  On March 18, 1945, he married Betty Collier who survives in Leipsic.
He is also survived by two children: Richard "Rick" (Bobbi) Parker of Ottawa and Judi Parker of Leipsic; and two grandchildren: Evan Parker and Tristan Parker.  Preceding him in death were two brothers: Doyle and Henry "Earl" Parker; and a grandson: Matt Parker.
Darel was a retired welder from Nelson Manufacturing in Ottawa.  He was a WWII Army Veteran.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leipsic, Leipsic American Legion, Ottawa VFW, and Putnam County DAV.  He served on the board of the Putnam County Veterans Service Commission for 18 years.
Funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Pastor Judi Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military graveside services by Ottawa VFW and Leipsic American Legion.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Leipsic Food Bank or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
