Darrell E. Neuenschwander

COLDWATER, MI - Darrell E. Neuenschwander, 78, of Coldwater, MI (formerly Glandorf, OH), passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family on September 21, 2023, at 12:17 p.m. He was born August 26, 1945, in Chicago to Harry and Leona (Kerner) Neuenschwander who preceded him in death.  On June 24, 1967, he married Mary Jo Brinkman, who survives in Coldwater, MI.

Darrell is also survived by four sons: Todd (Becky Beckwith) Neuenschwander of Coldwater, MI, Daren (Peggy) Neuenschwander of Marion, OH, Troy (Tracy Sweet) Neuenschwander of Fremont, IN, and Wesley (Traci) Neuenschwander of Ottawa; seven grandchildren: Anna (Brandon) Ballinger, Steven (Heather Sparkman) Neuenschwander, Kaylee, Liam, Addie, Laney, and Grady Neuenschwander: four great-grandchildren: Aiden, Ava, Laylah, and Ryann Ballinger.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by an infant brother, Dennis Neuenschwander and infant sister, Barbara Neuenschwander.

Darrell was a 1963 graduate of Glandorf High School and attended Ohio Northern University and was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity.  He was the owner of Chico Pizza for 10 years, Lima and he retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima after 32 years.  After retirement Darrell & Mary Jo moved to their lake house on Long Lake and he truly enjoyed spending time there with grandkids, family, and many friends.  Darrell also enjoyed listening to the 2 Fat Dads, family vacations at the Outer Banks, and playing chess & euchre.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023  and one hour prior to the mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
