David L. Felkey
OTTAWA - David L. Felkey, 67, of Ottawa died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1946 in Lima to the late Alvin J. Felkey and Katherine E. Felkey Gores. His stepfather: Karl E. Gores is also deceased. On May 22, 1976 he married Lois Laubenthal who survives in Ottawa.
He is also survived by 3 children: Sean (Sarah) Felkey of Cincinnati, Shannon Felkey of Columbus, and Ryan (Allyson Vaughn) Felkey of Ottawa; a grandson: Marcus Felkey; 2 sisters: Vickie Gottschalk of Maumee and Cindy (Dean) Kuhlman of Ottawa; and a brother-in-law: Roger Shreve of Orlando, FL. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Linda Felkey and Sandra Shreve.
Dave was a car salesman and a bartender at Highland Lanes in Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and the Ottawa Eagles. Dave enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and going to sporting events.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Ottawa-Glandorf Athletic Boosters or to the American Heart Association.
