David Anthony Hand GLANDORF – David Anthony Hand, 61, of Glandorf, took his last breath at 8:35 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at The James Hospital in Columbus. The story of David Anthony Hand began on November 18, 1962 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. David was the youngest of four children born to the late Nina (LoBuono) and William J. Hand. His older siblings: Christine (Frank) DeGarcia, Francis X. (Astrid) Hand and Gina (Gary) Berardi survive in New Jersey, along with six nieces and nephews: Frank, Dana, Alyse, Danny, Patrick and Christopher. As a child, David loved to take things apart and never put them back together. He enjoyed hockey and was a loyal New Jersey Devils fan. After graduation, David went on to become a stockbroker and then a partner at the New York Stock Exchange. In 1989, David met the love of his life, Amy Maag. They were married in 1994 and built a life together in Ohio in 2001. David and Amy raised their four children, Erica, Meagan, Sierra and Declan in Ohio.  Erica now lives in Montana and the other three children live in Ottawa. David was also very close with his wife's family including: Joann Kuhlman, Mark (Laura) Maag, Mark Kuhlman and their children. David explored different career opportunities in Ohio, ranging from construction to hydro excavating to safety and management. As much as he enjoyed his different jobs and valued a strong work ethic, what he valued most was family. When he wasn't working, David loved spending time with his family. He stayed close with his siblings in New Jersey through Sunday night phone calls. He was the superhero of the family. His duties ranged from assembling toys on Christmas to fixing cars and driving everyone to appointments. He cherished every moment that he had with his children and grandchildren, Kennedi and Dallas. He made a habit of solving everyone's problems. He enjoyed woodworking and building things. He was constantly working on his Bronco. He would tackle any task put in front of him. He was often found outside walking his dog, Aries. The last chapter of David's journey began in July when he was diagnosed with stage IV Melanoma. David fought hard against the disease. He put every last effort into being here to support his family until his last breath at 8:35 a.m. on October 28, 2024. A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Ottawa VFW.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
