David W. Hoersten OTTOVILLE – David W. Hoersten, 75, of Ottoville, passed away at 2:03 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. David was born July 10, 1949, in Lima to the late Clarence and Rita M. (Tigner) Hoersten. On May 10, 1975, he married Kathy Bendele, she survives in Ottoville. David is also survived by five children: Cory (Jill) Hoersten of Cloverdale, Megan (Chris) Burgei of Ottoville, Trisha (Brandon) Haughn of Ottawa, Casey (Jennifer) Hoersten, and Brady (Kimberly) Hoersten, both of Ottoville; twelve grandchildren: Alexander (Hailey Cotterman), Cayden, Jessa and Reid Burgei, Benjamin and Makenna Haughn, Josie Hoersten, Elijah, Jackson, Marcus, Addilynn and Scarlett Hoersten; one great-grandchild on the way; eight siblings: Irene (Kenneth) Rieman of Bowling Green, Evelyn (Eugene) Klima of Payne, Phillip (Marilyn) Hoersten, Marcille "Marcy" (Edward) Hoehn, Beverly (Randolf) Schnipke, all of Ottoville, Ralph (Elizabeth) Hoersten of Delphos, Bryan (Shelley) Hoersten of Ft. Jennings and Audrey (Dave) Kimmet of Ottoville; and his beloved dog: Janney. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Craig Hoersten. David retired from Federal Mogul/National Seal, Van Wert. He enjoyed camping, boating and tinkering in the barn. David loved spending time with his grandkids and making Harbor Freight runs. He loved running the fishing derby at the campground and Sunday convertible rides in the PT Cruiser. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Very Reverend George Mahas and Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service beginning at 1:45 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
