David J. Hohenbrink
Ottawa - David J. Hohenbrink, 93, of Ottawa died 6:00 a.m. Sunday, December 7. 2014 at his residence. He was born March 18, 1921 in Glandorf to the late John F. and Frances (Bockrath) Hohenbrink. On February 12, 1947, he married Pat Meyer who survives in Ottawa.
David is also survived by his children: Gary (Marge) Hohenbrink of Ottawa, Keith Hohenbrink of Ft. Mojave, AZ., Sandra Hoeflich of Chapel Hill, N.C., Paula Andrysco of Worthington, David L. (Susan) Hohenbrink of Huddleston, VA.; 5 grandchildren: Kelly (Paul) Rush, Greg (Jody) Hohenbrink, Nicki (Brion) Bergen, Mercedes (Grant) Haase, Nathan (Kristine) Andrysco; 3 great-grandsons: Zachary Hohenbrink, Ryan Hohenbrink and Aiden Haase and a brother: James F. (Wilma) Hohenbrink of Ottawa.
David was a self-employed builder, realtor and developer. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was a life member of Ottawa American Legion Post #63 and past secretary/treasurer of Northwest Ohio Board of Realtors. He was a veteran of the Army/Air Force, serving during WWII. He was a flight instructor for the Air Force. Dave and Pat loved to travel the United States and various countries and spending the last 15 winters in Palmetto, FLA.. He was also an avid sports fisherman at Lake Erie and Trophy Hunter, plus he also loved his flowers and gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
