David L. Hunt

DEFIANCE – David L. Hunt, 76, of Defiance, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones after his yearlong battle with cancer.  He was born December 20, 1947, in Lima to the late Leroy and Zelma (Counts) Hunt.  On January 16, 1976, he married Vicki Sprow, who survives in Defiance.

David is also survived by two sons: Jeff (Kylee) Hunt of Paulding and Chris (Sherri) Hunt of Delphos; seven grandchildren:  Colten, Ridge, Ethan, Sawyer, Collin, Kendra and Haddie; brothers: Clifford (Janet) Hunt of Continental; Gary (Deb) Hunt of Ayersville; a sister: Lois Maasie of North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Betty Parlett and Jean Lehman.

David had served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.  He retired from General Motors, Defiance where he worked as an electrician.  David was an avid golfer and crappie fisherman.  He loved his grandkids and attending their sporting events.  David was a big OSU fan.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 1 to 5 p.m. at his residence 15928 Power Dam Road Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
