David E. Meyer
OTTAWA – David E. Meyer, 62 of Ottawa died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf. He was born April 24, 1949 in Lima to the late Norbert and Margaret (Brobeck) Meyer. On June 16, 1972, he married Kathleen A. Stant who died January 29, 1995. On April 29, 2006, he married Grace Ramon who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 3 children: Scott (Cindy) Stant of Pandora, Tom (Jessica) Stant of Ottawa, and David Meyer, Jr. of Columbus Grove; 2 stepchildren: Joy (Eric) Camarillo and Kevin (Janet) Atkins both of Paulding; 9 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; a brother: Joe (Laura) Meyer of MD; and 2 sisters: Jane (John) Kettles of Ottawa and Janet Meyer-Gonzalez of MO. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Joan Meyer.
David retired after 30 years from General Motors Foundry, Defiance and had worked at Whirlpool in Ottawa and County Electric, Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was also a social member of Ottawa VFW, a member of the Ottawa Eagles, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Sons of the American Legion, Defiance Am Vets, Leipsic Rod and Gun and Local UAW 211.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Alfons Minja and Deacon Don Inkrott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
