DAVID "SMITTY" SMITH
LEIPSIC - David "Smitty" Smith, 55, of Leipsic, entered into eternal peace at 4:05 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Lima.  He was the oldest of four born December 31, 1958 in Ottawa, to Benjamin and Sandra (Salisbury) Smith who survive in Leipsic.  After attending Leipsic High School, David enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Hood, TX and Germany.  He had worked for POET in Leipsic.     He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, football and riding his Harley.  He was a member of New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church and Leipsic Eagles.
David leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his fianće:  Pam DiDomenico; 2 children Ben Smith and Megan Smith; 3 grandchildren: Alannah Minjarez, Tanner Smith and Max Smith; a brother: Dennis Smith; 2 sisters: Diane (Dan) Lozano and Darleen (Jeff) Hohenbrink; 5 adoring nieces: Jackie Hiegel, Tasha Gerken, Kelsey Lozano, Leah Hohenbrink and Lily Hohenbrink; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2014 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Military rites by the Leipsic VFW and American Legion Color Guard will follow the service.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday.
