David P. Watkins

LEIPSIC – David P. Watkins, 59, of Leipsic died at 2:08 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born May 19, 1957 in Lima to the late Earl A. and Mary Catherine (Kuhbander) Watkins. On August 27, 1989 he married Debbie Stateler who survives in Leipsic.

Also surviving are five children, Tabitha (Brian) Caudill of Grand Rapids, Catherine Boardman of Leipsic, Sara (Allen) Kemp of Findlay, James (Stephanie) Watkins of Findlay, Stephanie Watkins of Leipsic; seven grandchildren, Haley Watkins, Jacob Caudill, Christina Caudill, Alex Rayle, Neomi Watkins, Eragon Porter, and Emma Watkins; four sisters, Mary (Bill) Rogers of Land O'Lake, FL, Sandra Kay Coleson of Glandorf, Pam (Jerry) Halker of Glandorf, and Diane (Terry) Kuhlman of Ottawa; a brother-in-law, Ron Brown of Miller City; and a sister-in-law, Debra Watkins of Ottawa. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Brown and a brother, Delbert Watkins.

David was retired from Hearthside Food Solutions, McComb. He was very involved with the Boy Scout Unit 222 in Leipsic, especially their pancake supper. David loved the Miami Dolphins, fishing, and NASCAR.

A Funeral Service will be held 4 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
