Debbie Martinez

RICHMOND, MS - Debbie Martinez, of Richmond, MS, passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on February 19, 1955, in Richton, MS to Forrest and Bertha (McClain) Scarbrough.

Debbie dedicated the majority of her life to being a homemaker. She spent 20 years in LaBelle, FL with the love of her life, Fernando Martinez. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and shared her love for those people through food. She was known for her incredible cooking and being a listening ear to so many.

Debbie is survived by her children: Fernando (Mary) Martinez, Estefania (Devon) Aurand, and Sherri Martinez. Also surviving are her 9 grandchildren who knew her as Mimi: Maya Cotrell, Cristian (Ainsley) Martinez, Emilio Reyes, Dezmynd Martinez, Ricky Barragan, Zeriah Rodriguez, Aydrieann Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez Jr, and Camelo Martinez; and a great- grandchild, Josiah Cotrell. She was preceded in death by her son, David Neil Martinez and 8 of her 10 siblings.

Debbie’s Celebration of Life memorial will be held at a later date.
