Debra L. Bryant

OTTAWA – Debra L. Bryant, 67, of Ottawa, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at The Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 22, 1957, in Lima to the late Raymond and Edna (Kerner) Fortman.  On February 14, 1986, she married Carey C. Bryant, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2018.

Survivors include her fiancé, Greg Cavanaugh of Ottawa: a son, Matthew (Sydney Stewart) Bryant of Murray, KY; two stepchildren: Michelle (Paul) Maag and Scott Cavanaugh, both of Glandorf; two grandchildren: Chase and Brooklynn Maag; seven siblings: James (Alene) Fortman of Piqua, Joyce (Eugene) Renzi of Sackets Harbor, NY, Phyllis Poulson of Stevensville, MI, Joan (Leonard) Ebbeskotte of Glandorf, Tom (Theresa) Fortman of Lakeview, OH, Dan (Lynn) Fortman of Shelby and Marcel (Charles) Dorman of Clermont, FL; and a brother-in-law, Michael Okuley of New Bavaria.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul J. "P.J." Bryant; sister, Carol Okuley; brother-in-law, Daniel Poulson; and sister-in-law, Karen Fortman.

Debra retired from Wesley Housing Community, Adamsville, TN, where she worked as a housing manager. She was a member of the Ottawa Eagles and Ottawa American Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed shopping for others, playing pickleball, euchre and other card games.  Debra loved to travel with her family and friends.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, prior to the Mass at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
