Debra E. Wyant
LEIPSIC – Debra E. Wyant, 72 of Leipsic died 3:20 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her children and lifelong friends JoAnn and David Bloom. She was born November 5, 1953, in Findlay to the late Thelma Brown. On March 10, 1979, she married James Wyant and he died December 25, 2020.
Survivors include two children: Amanda Bils and Henry Adam Wyant both of Leipsic; four grandchildren: Nicolas (Felicia) Bils, Ray Bils, Daniel Bils and Emma Bils who were the light and joy of her life (and according to her, could do no wrong); five great-grandchildren: Ivy Bils, Eloise Bils, Amora Bils, Trenton McDonald and Alexis Blackwell who brought her so much joy, happiness, laughter and love the last couple years of her life; her precious dog, Maggie May who brought her so much comfort and companionship in the last six years; and in-laws: Judy Kuhlman, Carol Schroeder, Shirley (Gib) Kleman, Barbara (Dan) Ellerbrock, Ruth Moore, Mary Horton and Ronald (Karen) Wyant.
She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Richard Settlemire; brother, Wayne Settlemire; and in-laws: David Wyant, Richard Wyant, Raymond Wyant, Rose Wyant and William Wyant.
Debra was social worker with Crime Victims Services of Putnam and Allen County for 24 years before retiring in 2021. She was a 1972 graduate of Leipsic High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1995 from The University of Findlay graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026 at LOVE HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Geoff Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service Saturday.
Debra had a big heart for animals in need. She has requested in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Putnam County Dog Shelter.
