Delores A. "Snookie" Maag

KALIDA – Delores A. "Snookie" Maag, 92, of Kalida died 4:06 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Putnam Heritage, Ottawa.  She was born May 8, 1930 to the late Charles and Veronica (Huelsman) Hovest.  On April 8, 1953, she married Clayton H. Maag, who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 3 children:  Alan (Audrey Weis) Maag of Toledo, Pam Inbody of Columbus Grove and Sheila (Patrick) Beck of Brecksville; 10 grandchildren:  Adam Maag, Amanda Maag, Stacy Inbody, Eric (Andrea) Inbody, Tyler (Samantha) Inbody, Ryan (Elyse) Inbody, Michael Beck, Sarah (Scott) Wolfe, Joseph (Danielle) Beck and Katie (A.J.) Boeh; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Delores is preceded by a son-in-law:  Ken Inbody; 3 brothers:  Carl Hovest, Bob Hovest and her twin, who died shortly after birth, Edward Hovest and 3 sisters:  Mary Vennekotter, Arlene Verhoff and Irene "Billie" Drerup.

Delores retired in 1990 from Philips, Ottawa and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida.  She was a member of C.L. of C. and Christian Mothers.  She loved sewing  and quilting, playing the piano and playing cards.  Delores also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and reading.  She loved babysitting her grandchildren.

There will be a funeral mass, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Nathan Bockrath and Father Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2023 from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
