OAKWOOD - Dian K. Adkins, 73, of Oakwood went to be with her Lord Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born November 25, 1943 in Paulding to the late John and Grace (Brown) McCague.

She is survived by two sons, Chad Merritt of  Hoagland, IN and Kent (Carol) Merritt of Ft. Wayne, IN; a daughter, Kendra (Seth) Eklund of Defiance; two brothers, her twin, Dana McCague and Richard McCague both of Ft. Wayne, IN; a special sister-in-law, Ioma McCague of Oakwood; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry McCague and two brothers, Raymond and Phillip McCague.

Dian was a homemaker. She was a 1961 graduate of Auglaize Brown School in Oakwood. She worked for the IGA and Rhees' Market in Oakwood for twenty years. Dian loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. There will be one hour visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
