Dolores M. Schulte

KALIDA-Dolores M. Schulte, 84, of Kalida passed away at 6:59pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by her family.  She was born September 19, 1940, in Lima to the late William and Mary (Ricker) Gasser.  On May 29, 1998, she married Anthony Schulte.  He survives in Kalida.

Dolores is survived by 3 children:  Marcia Rieman, Joyce (Joe) Wehri and Karen (Bob) Sarka; 5 grandchildren:  Jarrod (Amy) Wehri, Jason (Jeanne) Wehri, Abby (Sam) Schroeder, Andy (Renee) Sarka, Rob (Paige) Sarka; 14 great-grandchildren:  Beau, Cole, Lucas, Savannah, Josilyn and Jay Wehri, Connor and Carter Young, Grace, Brynn, Logan and Elliana Sarka, and Emma and Ruth Ann Schroeder; a sister:  Alvera Kleman; and a sister-in-law:  Dorothy Gasser.

Preceding her in death are 9 sisters:  Anna (Bill) Knippen, Dorothy (Moletus) Osting, Regina (Leonard) Boehmer, Agnes (Joe) Knippen, Rita Miller, LaDonna (Ralph) Ostendorf, Leona (Len) Bruskotter, LaVera (Ted) Hanf and Mary Ann (Ed) Grote;  3 brothers:  Art (Mary) Gasser, Bill (Lois) Gasser and Bob Gasser; 2 brothers-in-law:  Gene Kleman and Ben Sargent; and a great-grandson:  Wade Wehri.

Dolores was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church Kalida.  She graduated from Ottoville High School.  She worked for the Putnam County Courthouse, and had been the treasurer at both Kalida and Elida Local Schools.

She enjoyed her 26 years of retirement by playing golf, spending winters in Florida and enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Family meant everything to her.

The funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Phil Smith officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp where a scripture service will be at 1:45 p.m.
