OAKWOOD - Donald Guy Bradford, 74, of Oakwood died 1:57 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center after a battle with cancer.

He was born December 31, 1942 in Van Wert to the late Guy "Jerry" and Wanetta (McCullough) Bradford.  On November 21, 1964, he married Faith Hubbard at the Oakwood United Methodist Church.  She survives in Oakwood.

Survivors also include two children: Lisa Ladd (Jeremy Dunning) of Oakwood and Amy (Kevin) Park of Bryan; nine grandchildren: Heather Ladd, Dale Ladd, Jr., Claire, Emma, Brendan, and Ava Hurtt, Katie (David) Yankee, Andrew (Brianne) Park, and Emily Park;  and a great-grandson: Spencer Ladd.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Jennifer Bradford; a grandson: Darrian Hurtt; a brother: Alfred Bradford; and a son-in-law: Dale Ladd, Sr.

Donald retired from Chrysler in 1995.  He then worked for 13 years as a part-time security guard in Defiance and Bryan. He was a 1960 graduate of Oakwood High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
