OTTOVILLE - Donald J. Burgei, 59, of Ottoville died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1955 in Lima to Lawrence and Mary Jane (Koester) Burgei. His father is deceased, his mother survives in Cloverdale. On August 2, 2005 he married Sheryl (Harter) Tumblin and she survives in Ottoville.
Also surviving are 2 children: Angela (Tom) Pettinger of Cincinnati and Michael (Jennifer) Burgei of Ottoville; 2 stepchildren: Michelle (Matt) Menke of Fort Jennings and Matthew Tumblin of Columbus; 7 grandchildren: Abigail and Samantha Pettinger, William and Victoria Burgei, and Brandt, Calvin, and Stella Menke; a brother: Tony (Marty) Burgei of Cloverdale; and a sister: Karen (John) Ricker of Cloverdale.
Don was a self-employed contractor with D.J.B. Construction and helped his son farm.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Barbara Cemetery, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
