Donald "Duck" Maag
FORT JENNINGS – Donald "Duck" Maag, 71, of Fort Jennings, passed away at 10:09 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at The Meadows of Delphos. He was born on March 30, 1951 in Lima to the late Lawrence and Mary (Landwehr) Maag. On March 9, 1995, he married Vicky Wannemacher, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Other survivors include three children: Stephanie (Chris) Stone of Fort Jennings, Nicholas (Kat) Fiedler of St. Paris and Alex (Allison) Maag of Delphos; five grandchildren: Gage and Brooklyn Stone, Bela and Axel Fiedler and Wyatt Donald Maag; a daughter-in-law, Megan Fiedler of Ottoville; eight siblings: Herman (Judy) Maag, Gene (Beth) Maag, Dorothy (Randy) Schroeder, Pat Larimore, Nancy (Gary) Jones, Lisa (Tom) Ladd, Sandy (Howard) Gray and Linda Grothause.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Matthew Fiedler; and a brother-in-law, Denis Grothause.
Donald retired from Unverferth Manufacturing, Kalida. He was a member of Fort Jennings American Legion Post 715 and Ottawa Eagles for many years. He enjoyed camping at Huggy Bear Campground with his family. Donald loved his wife, kids and grandkids dearly.
A funeral service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Randy Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
