Donald E. "Mr. D" Punches
LEIPSIC - Donald E. "Mr. D" Punches, 76, of Leipsic, passed away at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his residence.  He was born March 12, 1938, in Leipsic, to the late Charles and Bessie (Culp) Punches.  On July 18, 1964, he married, Karon Shoemaker and she survives.
Also surviving are 4 children: Sheila Punches of Leipsic, Shelly (Roger) Meyer of Leipsic, David (Kelly) Punches of Greenfield, MA and Nathan Punches of Hamler; 4 grandchildren: Hunter Meyer, Kierra Meyer, Willa Punches and Makenna Punches; 3 sisters: Juanita Eitzman of Napoleon, Charlene (Don) Herge of Defiance and Brenda (Karl) Meyer of Ottawa; and a brother-in-law: Don Crampton of TX.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Norma Crampton and Wanda (Roger) Honigford; an infant brother: Charles Punches; and a brother-in-law: Jim Eitzman.
Don owned and operated D & K Printing and Universal Games in Leipsic.  He attended First Christian Church in Leipsic; was a US Air Force Veteran; a member of Leipsic Eagles and VFW; an avid Cleveland Indians fan; and enjoyed horseshoes and fishing.  He loved attending the grandchildren's sporting events, and was known as the "Tomato King" because he grew such amazing tomatoes.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Tim Eding officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic VFW and American Legion.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
