Donald Allen Winchester
Oakwood – Donald Allen Winchester, 67, of Oakwood, died 8:36 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Parkview Medical Center, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  He was born April 28, 1944 in Oakwood to Leo and Beulah Maude (Grimes) Winchester.  His father is deceased and mother survives in Oakwood.   On July 14, 1969, he married Barbara Pierce, who survives in Oakwood.
Donald is also survived by two sons:  Marlin (Brenda) Winchester of Holland and Paul (Veronica) Winchester of Oakwood; 8 grandchildren:  Auntonio, Angelina, Marie, Alexander, Coltin, Lilly, Emelia, and Isabelle; 2 great-grandchildren:  Lalyla and Shyla; and a sister: Helen Winchester of Oakwood.   He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy L. Winchester.
Donald worked 33 1/2 years at the former Zellers Corporation in Defiance and then for Baughman Tile until his retirement.  He was a member of Defiance Christian Church.  He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Military Police, scoring 2nd in his class and having the highest score.  He was a member of the Defiance VFW Post #3360.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood with Pastor Bill Mesaeh officiating.  Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood, with military graveside by Defiance VFW.   Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to service on Monday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or donor's choice.
