DONALD C. ZELLER
LEIPSIC – Donald C. Zeller, 91, of Leipsic, died 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 11, 2013 at The Meadows of Leipsic.  He was born March 13, 1922 in Putnam County Ohio, Van Buren Township to the late Charles and Hettie (Scholl) Zeller.  On March 2, 1957, he married Cecelia R. Verhoff and she survives in Leipsic.  They were married for 56 years.
Other survivors include 3 children: Dale (Lucy) Zeller of Leipsic, Carl Zeller of Gahanna and Linda Cox of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Lauren Cox; 5 step-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Viola Zeller of Greenville, SC.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Clarence Zeller and Harry (Eva) Zeller; an infant sister: Virginia Mae Zeller; and a son-in-law: Charles Cox.
Don was an electrician for Meyers Electric in Leipsic and then retired as Maintenance Foreman for Libby McNeil in Leipsic.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Leipsic; a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater of Operation and received 2 purple hearts; a Life Member of the Leipsic American Legion Post 287, Leipsic VFW Post 9547 and Ottawa Disabled Veterans of America.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, polka dancing with Cecelia, and listening to Big Band music.
A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Leipsic with Pastor George Zornow and Fr. George Wenzinger officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic VFW and American Legion.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE-HEIMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, Leipsic or to Putnam County Home Health and Hospice.
