LEIPSIC – Donna J. Westrick Bollenbacher, 81, of Leipsic, died 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born October 30, 1934 in Palmer Township, Putnam County to the late Louis and Edith (Ellerbrock) Barlage. On May 8, 1954, she married Harold Westrick. He died March 15, 1978. Then on June 6, 1986, she married Cecil Bollenbacher and he died November 16, 1994.
Survivors include four daughters: Diane (Joseph) Fruchey of Glandorf, Beverly Gilbert of Ottawa, Mary (Dennis) Niese of Leipsic, and Pamela (Wyche) Garnes of Findlay; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister: Dolores "Dolly" Westrick of Ottawa; a brother: Bill Barlage of Miller City; and her beloved dog: Izzy.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Harold Barlage and Melvin Barlage, and a sister: Rosemary Inkrott.
Donna was a retail clerk at the former Paul's in Ottawa and Scarborough's in Leipsic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and the former St. Nicholas Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She loved traveling, camping, gardening, sewing, playing the organ, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud to have been a member of the Miller City High School pep band during the 1950 state basketball championship game in Columbus. Donna was a friend to all and never knew a stranger.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Miller City. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the mass on Monday at St. Mary's Parish Center, Leipsic. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
