Doris M. Sager

GLANDORF – Doris M. Sager, 94, of Glandorf, died at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at The Meadows of Kalida.  She was born June 6, 1926 in Delphos to the late Joseph M. and Cecilia C. (Brockhaus) Beckman.  On November 3, 1951, she married Leon Sager, he preceded her in death on September 11, 2014.

Doris is survived by four children: Elaine (Steve) Sunderhaus of Ottawa, Lois (Gary) Dickman of Kalida, Julie (Kevin) Laudick, and Robert (Pam) Sager, both of Glandorf; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren with one on the way; a sister: Alice Schroeder of Leipsic; and sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Beckman of Delphos and Agnes Sager of Glandorf.

She is preceded in death by two brothers: Herman Beckman and Bernard Beckman; a sister: Sr. Janet Beckman OSF; sisters-in-law: Alma Beckman and Philomena Gerding; and brothers-in-law: Don Schroeder, Amos Gerding and Norbert Sager.

Doris was a homemaker.  She also worked as the business manager for Sager Masonry.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and the Rosary Altar.  She had a quiet strength about the way she lived her life. Doris loved to read, shop and especially spend time with her family.  She had a dry sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed beer thirty!

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Masks will be required upon entering the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

There will be no public visitation and in lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf.
