Doris Ann Herman
OTTOVILLE - Doris Ann (Goedde) Herman, 78, of Ottoville, passed away at 8:29 PM on March 10, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 12, 1945, at home to the late Isidore and Mildred (Kruse) Goedde. On September 10, 1966, she married Carl Herman who survives in Ottoville.
Doris is survived by three children: Rick (Mary Lou) Herman of Glandorf, Diane (Fran) Vorst of Kalida, and Gary (Shane Coleman) Herman of Delphos; four grandchildren: Amber (Noah) Emmons, Brittany Herman, Renee Vorst, and Trevor (Ally Truster) Vorst; and one brother: Norman (Angela) Goedde of Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry (Dorothy) Goedde.
Doris was a graduate of Leipsic High School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. She often helped make noodles and prepared the meals for the annual church social. She worked in the Ottoville Local Schools cafeteria for many years and always enjoyed talking with all the students and teachers.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed laughing and talking with all people. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Ottoville Big Green basketball teams. She enjoyed playing euchre, pinochle, and poker with family and friends.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Very Reverend George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. A scripture service will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
