Dorothy A. Miller

OTTOVILLE – Dorothy A. Miller, 86, of Ottoville died at 3:15 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born June 9, 1930 in Cloverdale to the late Harry and Anna (Uphaus) Becker. On November 3, 1951 she married Kenneth Miller who survives in Ottoville.

Also surviving are two children, Lester (Lauretta) Miller of Spring Lake, MI and Cecelia (Bill) Camp of Edmonds, WA; three grandchildren, Cheryl (Travis) Wilhelm, Matthew (Jenna) Miller, and Nathan (Cristi) Camp; Ten great-grandchildren, Isaac, Heidi, Emily, Caleb, and Lydia Wilhelm, Elaina, Calvin, and Isabella Miller, and Calla and Walter Camp; and a sister, Margaret (Norman) Schimmoeller of Ft. Jennings. She was also preceded in death by a son, David D. Miller.

Dorothy was a cashier for Ottoville Bank Company. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, its Rosary Altar Society, and the Parish Council. She was a very active life member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a Scripture service at 1:45 p.m. and a VFW /American Legion Ladies Auxiliary service at 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the David D. Miller Scholarship Foundation thru Trine University, to Immaculate Conception Church Restoration, or to Putnam County Hospice.
