Dorothy R. “Dort” Bowen
OTTOVILLE – Dorothy R. “Dort” Bowen, 92, of Ottoville, passed away peacefully at 10:16 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026. She was born March 18, 1933, in Fort Jennings to the late Sylvester A. and Frances A. (Gergen) Hoehn. In 1952 she married James W. Wolf, he precedes her in death.
Dorothy is survived by four children: Dennis J. (Cheryl) Wolf of Lima, Gary L. (Maureen) Wolf of Liberty Township, Gina R. (Fred) Lamb of Lima, and Jeffrey D. (Tami) Wolf of Columbus Grove; eight grandchildren: Tosha (Dean) Mohr, Jami Wolf, Derek (Leslie) Wolf, Erin (Nick) Laffrey, Kyle (Ali) Wolf, Jason (Staci) Lamb, Deanna (Tom) Bowsher and Mandi (Brett) Garver; fourteen great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; one step-great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Lorene Lindeman of Delphos and Eileen Kehres of Ottoville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Sr. Marie Renee, CPPS; two infant brothers, Donald and Arthur; two brothers-in-law, Don Lindeman and Gilbert Kehres.
Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Ottoville High School. She had worked at Monsanto, Lima as an inspector and she had been the caregiver for her parents in their later years. Dorothy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society. She was very strong in her faith and loved her family with all her heart. Dorothy enjoyed bingo and dinners out with her sisters, as well as jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, baking, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Very Reverend George Mahas officiating. Private family graveside service will take place at a later date. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township
Memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
