Dorothy M. Hornish
OAKWOOD - Dorothy M. Hornish, 82, of Oakwood, died at 2:36 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Glenn Park of Defiance. She was born May 5, 1933 in Paulding County to the late Elwood and Jennie (Reynolds) Matson. On June 15, 1952 she married Don Allen Hornish who died September 15, 2010.
Also surviving are 3 sons: Daniel (Mary) Hornish of Napoleon, Ronald (Vicki) Hornish of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Thomas (Suzanne) Hornish of Seattle, WA; 9 grandchildren: Ryan (Tonya) Hornish, Lynette (Jeff) McCord, Brad (Lisa) Hornish, Kevin (Abby) Hornish, Kristine (Scott) Jenkins, Cheryl (Korey) Grow, Tiffany (Andreas) Janzen, Austin Hornish, and Havianna Hornish; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Rev. Raymond Matson.
Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and she assisted her husband with insurance and tax planning for Hornish Financial Insurance Services.  She was an unselfish servant to God, her entire extended family, and her community.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Bethel Christian Church in Arthur with Pastor Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church, Arthur.
