Dorothy J. Keeran

LEIPSIC - Dorothy J. Keeran, 91, of Leipsic, died at 7:20 p.m. Thursday January 14, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born December 18, 1924 in Leipsic to the late Oscar Turner and Lilly May (Skidd) Shaffer. On August 15, 1942 she married Richard E. Keeran who died October 20, 1974.

She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Keeran of Lima and Mary Sue (Tillman) Karl of Van Wert; two grandchildren: Karla (Matthew) Hoverman  and Seth (Kati) Karl; six great-grandchildren: Hannah Hoverman, Morgan Hoverman, Brendan Karl, Cayden Karl, Gage Karl, and Addisyn Karl. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: William, Harry and Charles Shaffer; and three sisters: Lillian Whitmore, Myrtle Lee Peterson, and Frances Huffman.

Dorothy had been the secretary for Fawcett, Lammon, Recker. She was a member of Leipsic Senior Citizens and Leipsic American Legion Auxiliary. She was a former clerk of Belmore City Council and was a graduate of Leipsic High School.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Tim Eding officiating. Burial will follow in West Belmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
