Dorothy C. Kleman

Ottawa - Dorothy C. Kleman, 88, of Ottawa died 6:46 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was born July 22, 1928 in Ottoville to the late Albert H. and Veronica (Krietemeyer) Utrup.   On November 23, 1950, she married Wilfred J. (Bill) Kleman.  He died January 11, 1980.

Dorothy is survived by five children, Gilbert "Gib"  (Shirley) Kleman of Ottawa, Emma (Jerome) Horstman of Cloverdale, Melvin (Alice) Kleman of Napoleon, Daniel (Cynthy) Kleman and Anthony (Teresa) Kleman all of Ottawa;  12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; a brother, Harold  "Boog" Utrup of Ottawa; and  a sister, Alberta Utrup of Kalida.  She is preceded also by her sibling, Brother Leo Utrup C.PP.S. and a sister-in-law, Lucia Utrup.

Dorothy worked at the former Putnam Acres in housekeeping and cooking.  She also drove bus for O/G School, and was a care taker for people in their homes.   She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf,  its Altar Rosary Society,   and a member of the CLC Council  179 Glandorf.  Dorothy was always involved  with the family farm. She made the best potato salad and sugar cookies and liked collecting pigs. She enjoyed attending the Putnam County Fair and Ohio State Fair  and watching her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren exhibit at these events. Dorothy loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed flowers, especially gladiolas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Scripture Service at 1:45 p.m..

Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Church maintenance and building fund.
