GLANDORF - Dorothy M. Ellerbrock, 82, of Glandorf died at 1:28 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born April 2, 1938 in Glandorf to the late Leo and Appolonia (Maag) Verhoff.  On November 22, 1955 she married Richard F. Ellerbrock, he preceded her in death on February 19, 2004.

Dorothy is survived by her children:  Gary (Kimberly) Ellerbrock of Glandorf, Deb (Forrest) Geckle of Continental, Leroy (Amy) Ellerbrock of Glandorf, Becky (Tim) Moening of Ottawa, Kevin (Mary Rose) Ellerbrock of Glandorf, Connie (John) Carpenter of East Rockchester; fourteen grandchildren: Kristen Ellerbrock, Kerri Ellerbrock, Ryan (Rachel) Geckle, Mark Geckle, Matt Geckle, Brent (Hailey) Ellerbrock, Cara (Bruce) Imm, Amanda Moening, Kasey (Nick) Hohenbrink, Staci (T.J.) She is preceded in death by two brothers: Leonard (Sally) Rieman and Elmer (Mary Jane) Rieman; and a brother-in-law: Tom Balbaugh.

Dorothy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf her whole life.  She was a member of the CLC council #179 in Glandorf where she had been president for many years.

She retired from Philips Display in 1999 after 33 years, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Dorothy was well known for her angel food cakes and homemade noodles, which were a welcome Christmas present to her family every year.  She was an amazing seamstress who made several of the wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for her immediate family and had done many alterations for anyone in need.

She was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Indians, and OG Titan basketball fan.  During the summer months she always had the radio playing an Indians game, or she would be watching these sports on TV.

After retirement she worked at the Bombshelter cooking breakfast and chatting with the Coffee Crew.  She also worked at Phantasm Designs sewing high school letters on varsity jackets.

Dorothy was also a member of the Glandorf Park Garden Club where she spent many hours weeding and watering, she loved to be outside working in the dirt.

Dick and Dorothy spent many years following polka bands around the area and up into Michigan.  They made a lot of great friendships through those years, and they are surely listening to Harold Mitas and Marv Herzog up in heaven.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr.
