KALIDA - Dorothy "Marie" Becker, 85 died at 5:56 p.m. December 21, 2020 at Mercy Health Putnam Medical Center, Glandorf. She was born November 22, 1935 in Kalida to Stephan H. Wehri and Magdalena Korte Wehri who preceded her in death. On May 4, 1954 she married Walter "Bud" Becker. He died February 7, 2007.
Marie graduated from Kalida High School. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of CLC Ladies. Marie worked at Philips in Ottawa, Lock 16 in Ottoville, and Schnipke Engraving in Ottoville.
Marie was a hard-working woman, devoted wife, and loving mother. She was a farmer's wife who loved farming and being around animals. At the age of 80, she retired from her working career. Marie loved to travel and see new destinations. She enjoyed bowling, working in the yard, mowing grass, and playing cards. She was always there to lend a helping hand whenever anyone called. Marie loved to entertain her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She had a very loving and caring soul, who had a lot of energy.
Survivors include three sons, Eugene "Barney" Becker of Kalida, Dan (Donna) Becker of Ottoville, Mike Becker of Findlay; two daughters, Virginia (Tim) Lammers of Leipsic and Donna (Joe) Hohlbein of Cloverdale; Eight grandchildren, Jessica (Dereck) Meyer, Janelle Becker, Jill (Billy) Bates, Amy (Cory) Osting, Erin (Adam) Schimmoeller, Bryan Hohlbein, Jordan Lammers, and Tanisha Lammers; two great-grandchildren, Marlee Bates and Karson Meyer and baby Osting on the way; as well as two sisters-in-laws, Theresa Becker and Helen Wehri.
She was preceded in death by family which included, Alfred (Kate) Wehri, Moxie (Cindy) Wehri, Pauline (Leonard) Schnipke, Teresa (Bob) Rable, Joseph (Mary) Wehri, John Wehri, Wilbur (Emma) Becker, Norman Becker, Urban (Rose) Boecker, and Luetta (Franklin) Kleman.
Following the COVID 19 regulations, a Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Masks are required to be worn at the church. The mass will be lived streamed on St. Michael's Facebook page. Memorials may be made to The Shriner's Crippled Children or to the Ronald McDonald House.
