Douglas Brooks Heitzman

Cloverdale - Douglas Brooks Heitzman, 58, of Cloverdale died 3:22 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus.  He was born April 26, 1957 in Lima to the late Dan and Joan (Brooks) Heitzman.

Doug is survived by his two children: Marc Heitzman of Hamler and Ashley Verhoff of Continental; a grandson: Brody Verhoff; a brother: Dan J. (Jean) Heitzman of Continental and a sister: Deb (Jeff) Martin of Ottawa.

Doug worked at General Motors in Defiance and  was a member of the UAW Local #211.  He loved dirt track racing at Lima land and Eldora, and thoroughly enjoyed his 1970 Ford Mach I.

A funeral service will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME,  Continental, with Pastor Brad Colley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service on Saturday  at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
