Duane C. "Baldy" Kreinbrink

OTTAWA – Duane C. "Baldy" Kreinbrink, 80, of Ottawa, passed away at his residence on October 1, 2023.  He was born on August 26, 1943, to the late Hubert "Red" and Mary "Mame" (Ruhe) Kreinbrink.  His brothers, Clyde L. and Dennis G. Kreinbrink, and his sister Carol (Dan) Kuhlman are deceased.  He was married on July 22, 1972, to Denise Kreinbrink, divorced in 2009, but remained good friends.

Duane is survived by his children: Jesse (Jennifer) Kreinbrink of Land O'Lakes, FL., Dr. Katherine (Dr. Joseph) Trunzo of North Royalton, Sheila (Matthew) Brueggemann of Lewisburg; grandchildren: Liam, Hudson, and Paige Kreinbrink, Luca, Elena, and Nina Trunzo, Ethan, Olivia, Brooklyn, and Riley Brueggemann; sisters-in-law: Karen Kreinbrink and Marilyn Jerwers; and many nieces and nephews.

Duane graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School in 1961, BGSU in 1967 and then received his master's degree from BGSU in 1977.  He taught industrial arts and drivers' education at Ottoville High School for 33 years. Duane was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and the Ottawa Eagles.

He was an avid golfer for many years.  One of his proudest moments was a Hole in One in 2003.  Duane enjoyed camping with his family and friends in Florida Keys.  He was a talented woodworker, making many fine pieces of furniture for his home and wooden toys for his children.  Above all, Duane was a loving father and grandfather, who always put his family first.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service beginning at 7:50 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, and again on Thursday one hour prior to the mass at the funeral home.
