Edna Karhoff
Glandorf - Edna Karhoff, 94, of Glandorf, died 12:50 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born December 10, 1918 in Putnam County to the late Frank and Eleanor (Schroeder) Verhoff. On September 3, 1941 she married Leo Karhoff who died December 23, 2001.
Edna is survived by three daughters: Eileen (Mike) Roessner of Tiffin, Alice (Dale) Tobe of Glandorf and Marilyn (Mark) Recker of Ft. Wayne, IN; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; son-in-law: Doug and Nancy Schroeder of Kalida; a daughter-in-law: Rosella Karhoff of Glandorf and a sister: Loretta Burwell of Ottawa.
She is preceded in death by a son: Harold Karhoff; two daughters; Mary Jane Hunt and Dianne Schroeder; a son-in-law: Daryl Hunt; four sisters: Angela Utrup, Mary Ann Verhoff, Florence Verhoff and Frances Schulte; two brothers: Alfred Verhoff and Wilfred Verhoff; three brothers-in-law: Claude Burwell, Arnold Utrup and Alphonse Schulte; and two sisters-in-law: Mary Verhoff and Alma Verhoff.
Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts especially ceramics and crocheting and spending family time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, with Father Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where a scripture service will be held at 1:45 p.m. and a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice.
